We are excited to welcome Jessica Blanco as a Journalist Intern of Virago Fitness. Jessica will be contributing articles about our F.I.T. Program partnerships and events and creating content promoting our mission. Here is a little bit more about Jessica’s background.
Jessica Blanco | Student Athlete
Jessica Blanco is a student athlete graduating this December 2019 with a Bachelors Degree in History. Her journey as a student has led her to us as she has experienced first hand the therapeutic benefits of fitness.
At the age of 7 Jessica began playing tennis, but 11 years later when it was time to leave to college she decided to leave sports behind and focus on academics. After two years of just getting by in school she decided something needed to change. Not knowing exactly where to begin she decided to put a hold on her education and transferred to a local community college, where she began to play tennis again. Shortly after, just one semester later, Jessica was offered a tennis scholarship at the University of Saint Katherine and that's when things started coming together. The structure behind athletics really helped her to get back on track. Believing everything happens for a reason, Jessica saw the Virago internship position and how we use fitness as therapy and knew she wanted to be a part of our team. She now looks forward to finishing school and sharpening her skills and creativity as the Virago Fitness Journalist Intern, while supporting something she fully believe in; Fitness Is Therapy. Stay tuned to see how Jessica will contribute to our team, as we are excited to see where things go.
Jessica is a senior at the University of Saint Katherine pursuing her bachelor's degree in History while interning for Virago Fitness as our Journalist Intern.
