Military Families Need Our Help / by JIllian Marshall

Constant relocation, and deployment can leave many military families feeling isolated from their civilian counter parts and the communities they live in. Military contractors and government infrastructure are no replacement for strong community bonds and understanding neighbors.

The issues that surround constant relocation and deployment are taboo and very difficult to talk about for military families and civilians are often undereducated about how they can help. A lack exposure to volunteer opportunities and community outreach has created a barrier between these communities.

Organizations like Blue Star Families are working to break down these type of barriers.

In honor of National Military Spouse Appreciation Day please check out the Blue Star Families website and see how you can help families near you that could use a kind word, help unpacking, or a just a little understanding.
