Happy National Eat Your Veggies Day! 

We all know that vegetables are good for you, but do you know why? Do you know which ones are best for you? Do you know which ones have which vitamins? Oh, you didn't? Perfect! Virago has your back. We've put together a little list of our favorite veggies and helpful tips about each one. Enjoy!

KALE

Kale is an Anti-Inflammatory, is rich in Antioxidants, and contains Vitamin K, A, and C. 

CARROTS

Carrots are rich in Vitamin A, and they improve vision and skin. This bright veggie is also high in carotenoids which your lowers risk of heart disease.

CABBAGE

Cabbage is rich in Vitamins A, C, E, & B, and antioxidants which reduce cancer risk.

BEETS

Beets increase blood circulation and are rich in nitrates which enhance physical performance. A Virago Favorite!

CUCUMBER

Cucumbers neutralize acidity, their silicon and sulfur content promotes hair growth, and they are an excellent source of Vitamin A and C, as well as folate and potassium.

BROCCOLI

Broccoli is rich in folic acid aiding tissue growth, and Vitamin C which aids iron absorption. Broccoli also eases the common cold.

Quick Tip :: Raw vegetables have more nutrients than cooked vegetables. If you can't stomach raw veggies, throw them in a smoothie with some fruit!
